GPX 4000 ~ 1st. Coil Splitting option (DD to mono ?)

For elephant hunting (Nugg), the reason I have to start at GPX (not SD or GP) is because of that Coil splitting mode from DD to half for Mono. Am I correct that the 4000 was the 1st. one to have that Option for High Min. or friendlier grnd ? Thanks in advance - Ken

Nevermind - I found out it was introduced on GP Extreme & it's mainly for Pinpointing to halve the DD coil. But thanks anyway

In some conditions its good to use a DD as a pseudo mono the one good point is that the discriminator still works the coil will be a bit more sensitive.thanks john

Hi Ken sorry i have not got back earlier the different timing helps to over come ground noise < mineralisation > its a while sins i have used a 4000 we only chase gold and us mono coils they give a better response.I have trouble getting my head around swinging a 11 inch dd coil in mono mode and only using half of the coil.There is a big difference in depth between sen extra and smooth .The freq. is different to the timings, freq help with electrical interference or operating near another detector ,power lines electric fences you can also use cancel BUY only with a DD ,cancel does not work on mono coils all the best john
