Grandma's Backyard

Hey everyone. I woke up today and wanted to go to some historical place. So i decided to go to the Martin's Mill Bridge here in Greencastle. It's the second longest covered bridge in PA and was built in the early to mid 1800's. When I was driving there I thought, shoot, it's owned by the township now and probably has signs saying no metal detecting. When I got there I was right...... :( As I went out, i thought, I haven't been to my grandma's in a while and since I'm close, I'll visit her. So I get there and do a few things for her and then go out and started detecting. Now the house isn't old. It was built in the mid 1940's around the time my grandma was born. So I start out finding a zinc memorial and then a 1949 wheat. I thought, hey this could be a kind of good day but then I find a lot of junk. Altogether in the three hours I detected I found a 1949 wheat, 1959 memorial, 10 other memorials, 1 clad quarter, 1 clad dime, 1 toy car and a junk stainless aluminum ring. Oh and also a bazillion tabs well not that many but you know what I mean (It was around 45), 3 old aluminum milk jug tops, pieces of toy cars, a fishing lure and other junk. All this in an area about 35 x 12. So this is a high trash area but hoping for some silver!! Next week I'm going to finish her yard and then go to another house near my house which is an early 1900's house abandoned in the 80's and is owned by my neighbor. So hopefully some better finds next week. Talk to you in the next post.:goodnight:
