Gratifying Sunday Hunt

I got out today for about 5 hours at a park with the Manticore and the 11" coil. I used All Terrain General.......sensitivity set at 26.......recovery speed of 3..... auto tracking..... 1 tone..... disc set to accept 26-28 and 52 and up.

All targets were between 7-9"deep and were giving a repeatable tone from at least 1 direction. I would have hunted longer, but, the heat, humidity and the gnats ran me off.

The last couple of times I hunted this park, I got shutout. I really didn't expect to find much. I decided to hunt FBS slow 🐌 today. I was very surprised and thrilled to end up with these finds. Gonna have to get started earlier to beat the heat and bugs.

Good hunting, my friend who got me into this hobby some 35 years ago, just ordered a Manticore. I’m starting to think the new machines are much smarter than I am. LOL

Nice job Dan are you just using the manticore now? you need a no seeum jacket like a bee keepers jacket

Congrats on the pair of Mercs, Buffs and the wheat harvest Dan. My last hunt was the first this year I had to call due to the heat. Strictly morning hunts for me till fall. Good luck using the 9 in. coil, I've been quite happy using it. Very light, even with the R&B battery pack I can swing it all day. Thats about my only gripe, too short of battery life. Again, good luck.

Thank you Mark. Early starts and early finishes from here on out.

Low and slow, is the way to go

I bought the 9" and love it. It goes on my machines when I have relativery clean ground to hunt. Very light.
It doesn't have the separation of the M8 tho and so right now it hasn't been on my machine much as I am working a small 30ftx 50ft patch of ground with alot of old rusted nails mostly square as this is an 1840's ferry crossing, and I am struggling to get good enough separation to dig the good target out of the bad. The M9 just doesn't play for me in that scenario, but I am sold on it for bout anything else.
