Gray Ghost phones?

I have a set of Gray Ghost phones made by DetectorPro which have been wired up to accept the wireless module for my XP Deus. They sound pretty good but was wondering if I am missing better sounds from some other brands. I like the WS4 system that came with my Deus...sound quality is pretty good. The GG sound a little different...right? I do have a set of Howard Leight phones for the Deus but they fit way too tight on my fat head! Sound quality is good on them though. I am selling them for something a little better. Are the Vance phones similar to the Howard Leight as far as fit and sound quality? BTW...I am asking $55 shipped for the Howard Leights if anybody is interested. Thanks.

Charles

Vance's phones ARE Howard Leights and every bit as tight. I tried to find out from him if he is changing out the speakers on HLs or just installing the adapter but never got a reply or response. I have GGs that I have plugged into the ws4 module with the adapter clip and the sound is not as good , muffled and "lazy" sounding.

Thanks sprchng...that's the answers I am looking for. I know the WS4's are little more "sparky" sounding than the GG and to some that extra info on the sound of the sparky WS4s can make a pretty good difference on whether to dig or not.

Charles , I had a pair of the wired backphones XP sells for the Deus that I had ruined the cord on. They sound terrific with the Deus even though they are not full coverage. I took them apart and stuck a multimeter on the speakers and they measure at 32ohms . I believe that is the magic number for sound with the Deus

I found that also on the GG a very muffled sounds as if a wet towel was over the speaker offering no clarity or crispness.......Vance phones are awesome sounding compared..

XP Ws4 for summer/ Vance for winter for me..

IMHO - Yes, they do get uncomfortable after a while but the "Vance Muff's" sound the best on a Deus - hands down.

Try a pair of the tdks wr 700 headphones with xp I garrantee u will like them. Sounds very similar to the ws4s except better ear coverage. Only downside to the tdks are u need to run a inline volume control because the jack is recessed into the remote a bit. Otherwise they crank out some volume

I have new wireless headphones coming for the Deus. Not as tight as the Vance or Howard Light and better sound quality than the Grey Ghosts. Got to try them at the XP Rally.
