Great day with the T2SE

Not necessarily from a finds standpoint, but getting to know the detector and having a productive day! The NEL sharpshooter coil certainly helps, but the main setup key was turning the sensitivity DOWN! The place I went is trash city and even my AT can be a challenge in certain spots. Well today I decided to sink or swim with the T2...and I swam quite well! Sens was 50, 2+ tones, disc 7. I got used to the chatter and even found myself zipping right along at a good clip! Finally. I also discovered that the 1940's era farmhouse was actually built near a much older homesite that is now long gone. There's a massive tree growing out of a hidden well! I never would have found it if not for that drive to explore...and because the owner mowed back there, lol!

Here are the pics. My finger is pointing to the tree that is growing out of the well...not a sapling for sure! I'm 6'3" and have 'monkey knuckles' and I wouldn't be able to get my arms around it..

The round object is solid iron. I have no idea what it is but I honestly thought it was a cannonball when I first saw the top sticking up..

Have to agree with you... that sharpshooter coil can't be beat... haven't taken it off my t2 since I got it ...Keep at it... got to be some goodies in between all that iron you are finding....love those old house sites...HH joe

I set the disc low because it seems to me that the detector 'clips' the better signals more the higher it is. I run my AT almost wide open too. Seems like better overall performance when you just let it 'run' without choking it down. I'm still not convinced that the T2 is better at higher disc level than my AT, so I want to really learn it well before deciding whether it stays or I sell it off and by an AT gold to go with my Pro. The other reason is that I want to see what's in this ground. Not all iron is bad! I have a small collection of tools such as a blacksmith hammer, combination wrench and a few other miscellaneous tools. Either way I plan to understand what this detector is telling me! Later I can tweak it for only what I want.
