Great Day

I had gotten permission to hunt this old mansion from the 1800's several months ago, but I had been procrastinating, always better places to go. well Today started off my vacation and it looks like its going to be a good one.

Looks like you made some real nice finds there.....my old stone house was from the same era and my silver was only from the 40's  I think fill has been added to the yard at one point.....what's the story with that wheatie in the lower right?

Looks like it was cut or something. Most of the coins were from the 20's and 30's which made me think that they had brought in some fill also, but after that 1899 I wasn't so sure. I will keep hunting it, but I don't want to do it to much it has a well groomed lawn and I don't want to over stay my welcome.

I hear ya....I found some old relics that I have yet to post and I have no idea what years the wheaties are from, but this place, although a small lawn, also is quite nice.....it's a real dilemma as I know those plugs are gonna turn brown soon - not good. Does that key fit any of the doors in the house - maybe the owner would be interested in it?

Wow great finds and that Barber is in awesome shape!! HH

That cut wheat was the only wheat worth something, My book says it is worth 5.00 in G4, figures.

Just can't get enough of them Barber Quarters during the year so congrats on that great find. WTG with the Trade Token also. I love finding those types of items since then you have a little piece of history from that business place. The Religious Pendant looks like it's made of Sterling Silver. Is it or is it Aluminum? Again....Congratulations on the terrific finds you are making and I hope it continues for you on your next outing as well. Good Luck and HH to you.

My friend who is a Montana trade token buff sent me an e-mail today saying that this token has a rarity of 8 and one sold like it on e-bay for 315.00. I thought the quarter was the best find.

You may think you have just a plain old business token but then find out that it's the best find and most valuable out of the finds on that outing. Congrats on a great find with that Token! I'd label it in a 2x2 and make sure to put on the back what one sold for just so you remember which token it was. Good Luck and HH on your next outing.:detecting:
