Backing up a little bit this was the weekend for Battle Cry - over 36,000 teens went to Detroit's Ford Field and had a fantastic time of music and messages. Casey was among them and she got back to the church at 2 AM this morning...then we had a drive back home yet - another half hour.
Knowing that we would be short handed the pastor asked if I would be on the Men's Music Ministry this Sunday...practice was Thursady and I couldn't make it. 9:30 this morning the Men's Music Ministry met for a practice before services at 10:30. There are just 4 of us and for no practice on Thursday we all sounded very good. We did as well if not better during the service. This is the first time our group has ever sung anywhere as a group and looks like we are here to stay.
Battle Cry was great from what Casey was telling us...well as much as she could tell us with lack of sleep sometimes we could not understand her mumbles from the back seat...but she was stoked!
I think the purpose of Battle Cry was to educate the teens of the media tearing down our world with filth on TV, radio, CDs and DVDs, movies, etc. It is for them too to make a battle plan to protect themselves. They were treated to some great teaching, music, comedy and more.
Well, time for me to fall asleep in my recliner...been a long weekend. BTW Sherry doesn't seem much better yet so please keep her in your prayers.

Mike worked as a volunteer, Kody and Shelby went with the youth group. They had a great time and have all been before. I look at it as like Promise Keepers for kids!
