It's a fun to use coin shooter for me. Not a depth monster, but will get 5-7" regularly. Easy to use interface, pretty accurate VID, runs smooth, good tones. I use the stock coil. Plenty of adjustment for any hunting condition. Batteries last forever.

My F5 will arrive tomorrow, so I can give you some feedback by the weekend.
Do a search for Mike Hillis and you will learn quite a bit about the F5.
It seems to get real good ratings by most who share their knowledge.
I do own a Fisher Goldbug DP, and that detector prompted me to look into the F5. From what I have learned here and the manual pdf. download, there seems to be some similarites in the 2 machines.

i own one, and love it. it does take some time to get some depth out of it.

i hit a cut in half 1962 canadian dime today at 8 inches....measured, not VDI.....not sure how it wound up cut in half, but i found the good half.

Hi Bill,
As a inland jewelry hunter it is hard to beat. I don't coin hunt with it very often so I'm not always the best person to respond to those type questions.
