Just dug my first faint target with the GQ. Most signals are loud and clear. I thought I may never hear a faint target with the GQ. Not that it doesnt work well, it absolutely does. But I get an inordinate amount of satisfaction from finding really deep stuff. I call it the "if I find it that deep I aint missing anything" confidence factor.
Running the goldquest at full bore, 10us/full volume, can give you ear damage. I usually turn it down 4 clicks from max on the headphones. I finally experimented with my Grey Ghost limiter and found that I aint missing much with it "on". Actually, I think I'm finding deeper stuff. One case of advertised features working as it should.
