Grey Ghost Platinum Headphones

RLOH

Well-known member
I bought these newer version of the original Grey Ghost phones and could not be more pleased. They have an upgraded speaker and cord. I never liked the originals with any Explorer I tried them with. They sounded mushy. The platinums sound crisp and clear. The cord stretches farther and after a hundred hours or so, they have no memory. I messed around with custom built phones several times and I had issues with one pair. The builder was no where to be found and would not answer my emails. From now on, I will stay with a company with a good track record.

I have 2 sets of Grey Ghost originals and 1 set of Black Widow's and like all three very much. Didn't know about the Platinums. Thanks for posting about them, I am going to check them out. HH jim tn

I too have a set of Grey Ghost Original headphones and really like them. They are quality built and are comfortable to wear. I'm not familiar with the Wisconsin's either. If these are better than the originals, they are killed headphones. How are these compatible as far as price? Thanks for the info.

Here is a true story about the Gray Ghost headphones that many people don't know.
My older brother has an set original Gray Ghost and he's had these for a number of years now, well when our other brother started back
into metal detecting after he retired I loaded him a set of Sun-Ray Pro golds and used them them for a few years until they died.
Well, that put him in the market for a new set of headphones and so he tried out Ron's Gray Ghost and really liked them, so he orders
himself a brand new set and when he gets them they didn't have any of the sound quality that Ron's had and he wasn't happy with them AT ALL.
So, he contacted the company and complained them and they told him that the had to discontinue using the speakers that they had started out
with because they had gotten over priced (cost to much), well he was even less happy with the headphones at that point, he paid a premium price
for a degraded product that the company didn't disclose openly! So, the tech on the phone told him on the phone that he could send the headphones
back and PAY to have the speakers upgraded to the speakers that they USED TO USE!! (he did buy the Gray Ghost Originals). So, he sent them back
ticked off and paid for the upgrade! He's completely happy with the headphones now, but he's still not happy about that somewhat shady deal they pulled
with the headphones.
