ground balance

How do you guys tell if you're ground balance or not? Also what does it mean when you keep getting minus numbers. Will a good signal come thru the minus numbers?

The MXT is forgiving in many areas. Ground balancing is one. Several folks on this forum have even mentioned they just turn on the machine and go!
If you want to ground balance, turn on your unit and pump it up and down 3-4 times. The readings and any sound should eventually go away. Now you are ground balanced.
Minus numbers are usually iron, etc. NOT the goodies. Although I have read that the lower numbers from 0 to around -5 "may" or could be platinum.
If you have goodies next to "the lower numbers" or iron, then it will depend upon the type of coil you use, the depth and position of the targets and your settings as to what you will read.
Hope this helps some.

Johnny B
