ground balance?

Ive been running my machine on the 90 .I watched gary on you tube and he suggested leaving it there stating out but I want to become a pro my ground has been reading around 86 you guys got any suggestions. dont know whether to do it manual or the pumping method will not be using tracking as I hunt thick iron sometimes.

Over cleaner ground you can use tracking and when the detector tracks in,, you can go to manual to lock. Or you can sweep over cleaner ground and watch your ground have number and manual dial your GB.

I have found in the sites with loads of nails and iron--- just go 86 manual and hunt on.

so set it to the number exactly after I sweep the ground to see what its running? some were saying go below a little dont want to complicate it to much but if it boosts performance in the slightest I want to do it.

I think whether or not GB affects performance mostly depends of the ground's mineralization strength. Most of my sites have a high iron to salt mineralization ratio BUT the overall mineralization strength is very weak. I never get any bars on the strength indicator. My ground usually reads around 88. I think I could leave mine at 90 and forget about it. But I like to optimize settings so I usually manually set the GB a couple of points below in the hopes it will give me a bit better performance. But like I said earlier, because my soil is so mild, I don't think it setting it to 86 versus 90 really helps performance much ( not that I have noticed) but I will do it anyway.

If you have medium or highly mineralized ground.....you need to pay attention to GB, because it will affect performance.

my ground is neutral too ran it down today and it got a little chatty bumping around the stalks so I just put it back to ninety and let it fly.

There is always a lot of talk regarding ground balance, I have always been told you need to look at the mineralisation meter, if that is not registering there is no point ground balancing as there is not enough mineralisation in your soil to warrant adjustments, the numbers on the screen are just phase readings.
If the bars are pumping this is an indication of present ground minerals, then you may proceed to ground balance adjustments if you wish. It may give you a small advantage.
The Mineralisation bar becomes more active when using all metal modes.

thats pretty much how I ran my at pro with the factory preset ground balance and did real well with it, Ive been watching the videos and reading the manual and both say just like you did leave it alone unless you have to . there are really no minerals in our ground to move the bar so im good thanks.
