Dont know If this is any help... I noticed that while I'm Digging a weak signal, and the signal gets weird after the first spade of soil... My GB is wrong.
(Found out Once where the signal (weak one) disapeared in the hole).
Think it got something to do with air between coil and the object.. ! Man.GB a keep an eye at the display is my way.. +/- 1 or max 2 is good for me.
And yes same observation here, that tracking can go to low at trashy (iron) places, and then its gets Noicy
