Ground balancing the Omega I need a littile assistance please

I am a little confused about the ground balancing on my new Omega. Ok so, here are my questions.

Is the Auto Tune setting like an all metal setting with the threshold humming so I can raise and lower the coil and make adjustments the old fashion way?

Or is there some sort of auto tracking for the ground balance that is automatically adjusted when I click over to the disc mode?

If none of my questions are making any sense then would someone here who has the Omega please advise me the correct way to ground balance the machine please. Thanks, Tim

No auto tracking adjustment!
Yes, auto tune is all metal and you use that to ground balance.

Now after you have it ground balanced and your hunting the detector tracks and displays ground conditions, that's the meter in the bottom left of the display. it just monitors the ground so you can see any ground changes on the fly, if the meter starts averaging high, then you can manually lower the ground balance a bit, if it starts to average low, then you can bump it up a bit. And, yes this part of the meter will read high when over metal.

After a little more fooling with it this evening, I seem to have figured it out a bit. It was not all that complicated but it is a bit different from what I am used to. I am quite impressed with it so far. I found about 14 cents and a couple of what its in an area of my yard I have beaten to death with metal detectors trying them out. I cannot wait to see how it performs at some of my sites I have been frequenting here lately. I thank you MarkCZ for the info and clearing it up a bit for me. I will keep you guys posted on what I pull out of the ground if I find some goodies. Thanks, Tim

Good luck Tim, Go slow and really listen for the good tones being masked, thats where I found most of my good targets, I was going way to fast at first and missed alot of good stuff.
