Mirrors my test using 10" deep clad dime.
I will mention something here,
I see you commented on your ground phase reading.
Is the ground phase related to what you and I are seeing with ground notch setting affecting signals of targets,
It could be, but right now I don't think it is a huge player.
Why?
Because I have gotten similar results to yours in 2 different sites.
One the ground phase was reading 74 the other 77.
And my site's soil more mineralized than yours is.
So we can discount mineralization too I think.
Unless very high minerlization brings some thing different here.

I think your correct in your assumption its not the ground phase causing it. Notice it did the same to the target with dirt removed too ???????

the new hf coils are very stable and I really like them . I might give the 9inch a try in the near future. I get the noise issue but the new hf coils don't have that problem imo

Here's something that needs to be consideed also as far as ground notch use.
What about negatively affecting Deus' ability to unmask/separate.
Since you are good with your camera, use your ingenuity and try to set up some challenging unmasking and or separation test (buried) and compare signal with no ground notch and with ground notch set to notch. 85-90.
Since it seems those who do you use ground notch, this is how they set up it seems.
Here's something that needs to be consideed also as far as ground notch use.

I don"t notch but maybe the new coil because of the freq has something to do with it??

I understand the theory behind the notch but never used it I get a quick read on a site and set GB at a medium I might be a bit neg or positive by a few numbers and that might cause a bit of chatter ?? but because I know no difference its "normal" if super concerned why not use tracking?
I know we all use these tools for different purposes and there is no one fits all setting sort of hanging out to use the 30 kHz on the lower side its got to be faster than 18 yes
hope so and its a freq not many people get to use might be fun but time will tell right
