Ever have a site that you want to hunt, even asked permission at one time, but the owner was not around. Only to drive by today and see a guy swinging a detector! AHHHHH!!!! That's OK! I seen what kind of detector he was using! there will be plenty for me later!

Less than a mile away. They were swingin a Troy shadow, and a Whites MXT. Like you said, They left plenty behind I'm sure. And they didn't even fill their holes. But I did.

asked to hunt but in my neighborhood! Found out a few years ago that someone else asked permision and had found lots of coins, including silver ones and such! Yet, it was my fault for not going and asking and also the person that told me about it could have asked too and never did! So, we both lost out on that one! May try to go and get the crumbs, if I can find the right person to ask?
Like I said to soon old and too late smart!!

I know the feeling! There is a 95 year old house I have passed by many times that looked abandoned but never saw a car there so that I could ask permission to hunt the lot. Next door is a wide open field just ripe for the plucking. Sunday afternoon I picked up my daughter and a couple of friends from the mall and when I asked where one girl lived, lo and behold, it was that very house! Man, I was excited just dreaming of all the goodies it would give up. It turns out her family just moved there to live with the 90 year old widower who needed someone to help out, but permission was denied. The little lady wasn't very receptive of strangers. Oh well, at least I tried!

Well, Mike if there was a guy swinging there. He could've found a coin or two, but on the other hand the same holes he digs could have family (other coins) which he might have missed. So go for it and never look back.
