So after googling rons meter...I can't seem to find one for sale. Where would some one get one...and how much to they usually cost? Thanks.

Joe Ron is the mod on this forum he,s the man to PM , he makes a great meter good man to deal with just type in Members Only Messaging Ron from Michigan . GL Jim

Ron's meter will probably be one of the best investments for your GT.

Hey Joe,
I got Ron's meter about a month ago, I don't have the best hearing and had trouble seperating the GT's tones, the meter helps you learn the tones and gives you an idea of what's in the ground.
Unlike the meter on my Xterra 505 which shows you the difference between a penny, dime and a quarter Ron's meter registers 179 on all three coins but it's definately worth the reasonable cost he charges.
Hope this helps, HH John

John I have terrible hearing. Currently one hearing aid in the shop for repairs. I use Ron's meter on my GT. You can adjust the meter to read 180 on clad/silver coins. Every time I change coils I check with a clad quarter to make sure that it is reading properly. If it reads other than 180 on the quarter I re-adjust the meter. I have gotten to the point that most of the time I can be relatively sure of my target just by the tones but I still take a glance at the meter to see what it has to tell me. I will not go out detecting without the meter except on the beach.
