gta 1000 ultra coils

Does anyone know if any of the dd coils will work on a gta 1000 ultra? Which is best for deep coin shooting?

They did make one for it at one time. You might want to contact Garrett and see if there are any still available. The 1000's used the Crossfire coils and thusly were pinned different on the connectors.

There used to be a company that made a coil called (Hot Head) for that series of garretts machine. They had a 5" and a 10" hot head. They was distributed thru Kellyco so you might give JW a call and inquire about them.

Yeah, they DID, but not anymore. I bought one of the very last, if not the last, 5" Hothead Kellyco had a few years back. Not a DD, but a sweet little coil. I keep it on a Freedom Ace Plus now for cherry-picking real trashy spots. But it couldn't hurt to ask, maybe they do still have one somewhere.

THANKS FOR THE INFO EVERYONE. I have a 12 in. hot head and an eliptical about 5x10 both have been well used by my father who has been detecting for 30 years. Both have faint hairline cracks on underside can this cause detector not to clear while in use this seems to be the only problem with it. My dad bought me an mxt but I like the simplicity of the gta.

Both the 2D elliptical search-coils made for the GTA 1000 Ultra works well, as do the 12" Hot Head.

All of the searchcoils made for the CX Plus will work on the GTA 1000. With the exception of the depth multiplier, of course. Garrett has not made the 5"x10" or 3"x7" double "D" Crossfire searchcoils for years. They are no longer available on the market and you'd be lucky to find one for sale by an individual. I wouldn't part with mine.

You can still buy the 10"x14" double "D" searchcoil for it (CX) from Garrett, KellyCo, or any number of dealers.

Best of luck to you.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
