I recently purchased a gta 1000 off ebay,,according to the manual, i should be able to activate the audio boost and surface elimination. when booting up the detector i do see those modes (it shows all modes when first firing up) but when i go through the select modes,,the last mode i can access is the audio mode. when i push select it doesnt go to the other two modes. are the early gta 1000 without those modes?but the software is there. thanks. other then that the machine works great
 
Don't have my 1000 in front of me, but if I recall correctly, once in audio mode the + and - should step through the additional options. While on the additional options, press select to turn the on and off.
Anyone else correct me if I'm wrong, haven't had my 1000 out for several months... <img src="/metal/html/oh.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":O">
On is indicated by a steady indicator, while blinking indicates off (or vice versa).
Go to Garrett and download the operations manual to be certain. It should help you understand the machine better anyway.

thanks i have tried all options...doesnt seem to work,perhaps its just a gta 1000 rather then an ultra or power plus,,,im not sure,,guess ill call garrett..with the serial number,,
 
Mine is the GTA 1000 Power Master. I bet it may need a tune up. Had mine done and a few parts replaced plus a new coil and it was $40.00 which included shipping it back. So now its like new +++. Yup ,check with Mary at Garrett. Good luck.
 
finally got the audio boost to come up,,but it was done by pushing the select button really hard..must be a bad
switch..guess ill send it to the factory and see if they can tune it up and fix it,,thanks for all the help
