GTA 400 VS ACE 150

Eric

New member
I can pick up a very nice gta 400 that I will use as a back-up/loaner unit. It has the same price as the ace 150. What would be the better pick?

appreciate your answers....

Eric.

Hard one! The 400 is programmable-the Ace has 3 preset programs. I really loved my 350 because of this. But the Ace is new and has the warranty-hmmmm. I don't think you can go wrong with the Ace since you will have a warranty and I love my 250-which is basically a 150. I don't use the pinpoint feature all that much on my 250-I just raise the coil and motion pinpoint several inches above the target. I really like the odds with the Ace-IMHO.

Thanks, .......do they have the same depth? I guess I will use it the most with a small coil attached.

HH, Eric.

I have the 400 for about four years, also this year got the ace 250. The 250 is great detector, it's got features the 400 does not have. The only thing the 250 can not do is wet sand. But over all the 400 to me is the one for me.The 250 is my backup.

Some people have gotten quite good at pinpointing without the pinpoint mode on the Ace 250.
I have learned to do it but not without a lot of practice and patience. Personally I'd get the Ace 250 if for no
other reason than you get the warranty and you can buy a sniper 4.5 coil. The sniper coil is a must if you
want to get up cloe to foundations and around trees or any other tight space.
Good luck.
