Is the depth of these two units about the same or does the 2500 go a little deeper?

Thanks,
Steve in PA

Yeah, and just put that two-box depth multiplier on it and see what you get!

A two box unit is a metal detector system that can detect far deeper than the typical single search coil. Rather than a small 4.5 inch to 12.5 inch single disc with transmit and receive windings contained within the same coplanar disc to detect about as deeply as the diameter of the search coil, a two box unit has two seperate rectangular coil windings a few feet apart. One for transmit and one for receive to achieve a depth reading several times deeper than the typical smaller search coil.

There a several different manufacturers that make two box units. However, Garrett is the only one that makes a two box search coil system that attaches to a regular metal detector. They offer this for the GTI 2500 (Treasure Hound with Eagle Eye) as well as the Master Hunter CX Plus (Treasure Hound).
