GTI 2500 Backlight Brightness

My used GTI 2500 has a rather dim backlight. Hard to see somewhat. Is the backlight generally bright on these? I don't see that this is adjustable.
 
It's not adjustable. You can get one of those hat clips, or light band on your forehead to help with more light.
 
I thought maybe the bulb was getting weak or maybe more than one and some burned out. Screen looks like has dark areas and light areas; not evenly illuminated. Is this normal?
 
I have the GTP 1350. I have no issues with my back light? The light is even and its well illuminated.
