GTI 2500 Between pulltabs and Pennies?

This area on the conductivity scale always seems to turn up lead, brass or junk for me. Has anyone ever found coins or jewelry in this part of the scale while reading a "B" size target?

Just curious,

I normally run mine in custom mode, but I sometimes bounce back and forth between custom and zero. I've never found coins on those notches that I recall, but I've found cheap jewelry there before. If I ever find any gold I imagine it would possibly read somewhere in that area too. Hope this helps.

Yes! I Have found gold rings in that area....be careful. Always go over your targets in different directions, and listen for consistent soft sounds.

In the notches that you have highlighted in the photo, here in Oz :ausflag: We have 20 and 50 cents. Both the $1 and $2 coin as well as 50% silver three pence and sixpence pre-decimal coins:bouncy:. I like this area of the screen. Our 50 cent coins tend to be size C and the 20 cent coins can bounce between B and C. A three pence may register as an A. They are tiny.

I've never found any coins within that range before, that I can recall. At least no U.S. coins, that's for sure. I have indeed found gold jewelry within that range, though. Best of luck to ya'. Happy Hunting!:)

I believe everyone else is on a similar path as I but... A little secret that I do not tell other detectors in the area is the nootches you are talking about are where alot of the older coppers and indian head cents show up. I believe it is due to the corrosion. I would have to say outta 39 indians found last year that about 50 percent of them were somewhere in this range. Don't skip this notches.

I just sent my Minelab Se back for a once over.Im using my old 2500 my dad uses now.i have found indians and pennies in that area.ive yet to get lucky with gold but it would hit in that area.I run with zero discrim Belltone on Bilevel on and sens so that it just starts falsing. Its not a bad machine, but it gets no where near the depth or the target info i get on the Se.But i can pluck coins all day long 6 inches and under. The sizing makes it real hard to dig junk ,unless u are digging iffy signals.Good luck hunting...

Do you ever hunt in all metal and use the same size coil your Explore has or just use a comparable coil?

Bill

I found a 1/4 oz gold nugget in Georgia and it registered at the 6.5 mark on the scale. My favorite numbers on the scale. Unfortunaly alot of junk goes there also.

Indian head penny is almost at the top of my wish list. Thanks for the heads up. No pun intended.
