gti 2500 question ?

sasquache

Well-known member
hello i just wanted too say i really like my new gti 2500 what a smooth running detector. ok now my question when im in all metal mode with auto track ect it seems most times when i hit on a signal the detector goes into a nulling sound and then after about 5 seconds comes back too normal is this a big target ? or is there something wrong ? only happens in all metal mode. thanks for your time .

does anyone else experience this with there gti 2500?? please help  i have know idea .

That's normal. As you have noticed, it is VERY sensitive. When it goes into that constant nulling sound, just touch the all-metal button and it will stop. What it is doing it normal.......

thank you john but why does it do it on every target ??

I only got to use my new gti 2500 a few short times before the weather got to bad. I was kinda wondering if people dig a target if it only gives you a belltone in one direction of the swing and not the other. I guess I probably should have dug the targets that game me that response to see what the machine was telling me. Unfortunately the few times out with it I was real limited on time , so I dug only the two way belltones. Thanks for any advice given !! CoinShooter-Craig

Always check those one-way signals. You'll be surprised what you find. You can also try "twitching" the target to see if you can generate a two-way signal.

Well from what I can tell from your post it seems you are holding the 2500 still over the target. If you do that it will null and go dead because it will try and cancel it out. To keep this from happening, keep the coil moving a bit. So if I gave you an answer tahe doesent seem to work then give us a more detailed example of what you are experiencing. Mine does that same thing only if I keep the coil still over the target. Good luck.

You're probably holding the coil still over the target. The 2500 is a motion detector and does not have non-motion all metal and the coil must be moving, if ever so slightly, while hovering over a target or it will null out until moving again. You cannot hover motionless over a target and maintain a signal. Remember this and your problem should disappear.

hello thanks everyone for your answers, but the thing that gets me is as im swinging in all metal mode and when the coil detects a target it nulls  does this every time maybe i need more time with it im thinking i need too turn the sensativity down its on 9.5

Nope just dont hover over the target....sen is fine. Read mine and Uncle willys post...

ok i will give that a try thanks too everyone
