GTI 2500

Most people don't use it, and if you are not very familiar with changing the settings, it can be a bit frustrating. Personally, I am glad that they have quit using it, as all the ones who still have it will become collector items, as Garrett is the only Manufacturer to utilize it, and it is (was) only available with the GTI 2500 and Master hunter CXIII. I would never part with mine now :)

I tried turning on Treasure Talk on my new GTI 2500 and found out it didn't have it. It would have been nice to try it out. But then again I would have seldom used it since it would probably sound like a nagging wife after a few minutes of us, thus requiring me to turning the darn voice off.

I use it every hunt. I was asked to turn it off once by a woman on her deck near a park where I was hunting and once by a woman on a cell phone (I did both times) and most people are really interested in it when they hear her say something. It takes a bit of getting used to because some of the letter sound too alike (B, C, D, E.) Some people hear "Size B at 6 inches" as "Five feet, six inches." They usually say are you gonna use that tiny blade to dig that deep?

I love Treasure Talk. As for being a collector's item. Mine will always be a workhorse. Love my 2500. Hope my back is ready by March 2009. I gas stays where it is, I'm going south this Winter too.
