GTP 1350 and the Draw'd Down Pond - Redux

I moseyed on over to the drained lake again, today. I wont be able to do any detecting until next weekend, and I have to lay kitchen tile at some point. So I figured I better hit it while I can.

No gold jewelery or CW belt buckles turned up, but I was amazed at the stuff the "horde of other detectorists" missed. I was lamenting their presence before, if you'll recall. Now I'm just kinda wondering what sort of detectorists they are.

Screwcaps, pulltabs, hood from a dinkie, large foil wads - no beach hunter worthy of the name would leave these behind.

good stuff dahut yeah the average detector swingers have bad coil technique- most ark there swing & walk way to fast which is awesome news to us, i watch a few you tube detecting vids & just shake my head & wonder how they find anything at all.

In this case I made it a point to avoid the areas hammered by all the others, and to overlap my swings. The few places I did test behind the others, it was obvious they were hunting in foil discriminate. I found nothing but low range foil, there.

But the goodies were found where most feared to tread: outside the lines of the swim area, in toe-deep water, around the boating docks and right at the edge of the grass where it overhung the water.
Keep in mind that the water is down, so knee deep was chest deep during the summer. If the water is still down over the weekend, I believe I'll break out my H2O detector and have a swish.

Okay, that is a lie. I would rather take a hot poker in the eye than lay tile. But you do what you gotta.

Otherwise known as a gully washer or creek riser in these parts. But I like "frog strangler," myself.
