gtp 1350 coil

Does anybody else have trouble with the 7X10 eliptical coil?I really don't like it.Think the 8.5 CrossfireII would do a better job.Would like to hear both sides.Have never liked garretts DD coils.let me know.kd

What seems to be your main problem. Just the fact you don't like it tells us nothing. All DD coils perform differently than concentrics.

Well ive been using the dd coil alot more lately and i seem to be picking up deeper targets more consistantly. I went to an old school that ive done before and i picked out 5 wheats and a 1916 buffaloe today. I was over the same area before with my standard coil and picked up one silver, but i missed all the deeper wheats and that buffalo. The dd coil sends sideways signals down, the standard coil works differently. The only drawback of the dd is it is harder to use in trashy areas. The coils bigger and you can be hitting more than one target and it will throw you off. If im in an old area where i know theres deeper targets and not too much trash i will use the dd from now on. In fact i ill use the dd all the time unless trash or multiple targets are throwing me off. i will post picks here shortly all the wheats and buffalo were between 6 and 10 inches down.

The last DD coil on a garrett i used was a 5x7 on a gta 1000.Didn't have any depth.Getting false readings with this coil,traded a guy my tejon.and i'm not getting any depth with this coil,4"sniper coil does great,just wondering about the 7x10.I really like the profiling feature and i think the 1350 is a great detector,just not gettting what i'm used too.......kd
