gtp 1350 question

hi all,, just a question about the 9" X 12" coil,, does anyone use this coil and if so is it alot better than the standard coil,,any input would great

thanks Roger

It is a great coil, it will give you better depth in high mineralized soil then a standard coil. Bottle caps sound off as coins. All DD's do this no matter which make.

Everybody uses it. Detects just like the standard coil but gives you more coverage and 2-3 inches more in depth.

Hi Roger.
I've used it on the Ace to good effect. The audio fade is more distinct on the larger coil over the standard coil. The ground coverage is better too. The only down side is the slower recovery speed of the 1350. with the larger coil on, if you are hunting in trashy ground, then there is an increased risk of targets being masked. The larger coil is great for beaches ans playing fields eta.
John's Crossed up on which coil you were asking about. He was thinking of the 14in DD coil. The Yanks seem to have a lot of problems with crown caps from beer bottles when they use DD coils. It seems to effect most detectors (The Explorer is one of the few that don't suffer from it). As our gold coins hit on the lower end of crown caps, we tend to have less problems with them. even when they show up as a goldie, you can usually pick them anyway, as they hit differently than coins. Anyway, I'm waffling.

I use the 9x12 on my 1350. It does give you better coverage and depth in bigger open areas with little trash. I have noticed that the descrimination only works down to about 7 inches after that it's a crap shoot. But, it does get deeper.:garrett:

Roger, I just bought the 12.5" Crossfire II concentric coil for my 1350. There's a dealer that has new ones on special for $48.00. Send me an email if your interested and I'll give you the details. Mike

Mike if the special is still on I would like the dealer info. I tried to send you an email but your email address is marked hidden. I have a 1350 on the way and would like an extra coil. How is the performance of the 12.5" crossfire compared to the 7"x10" that comes with the 1350?

Thanks...Joe

Joe, here's my email: amg6483 (at) yahoo.com and I'll give you the dealer details. Haven't had a chance to use it outside yet. Too much snow in Central Ohio. On air tests I gain aprox 2" on coins. I really see an increase though on larger targets. MIke
