Put the sniper on,Crossfire II, and gave it a test this eve. It hits pretty well, 6" or so on coins at 75% SENS.
The ID is dead on and even he depth far off. Well see how it does in the field.

I meant to say that even the depth indications are not far off. They are not as precise as with the stock coil, and it is harder to get a depth lock on at the limits of detection. Whadda was saying his coils depth indications were pretty much unusable, locking on at 1" all the time. I didn't notice that with mine. It was tighter, as you might expect, and required more effort to get a lock on. But the depth readings seem to be close enough to be useful.

Another interesting thing I note is the TID is reliable through the entire range of depth, but the Belltone falls off after about 4". There is still a short audio alert and the TID cursor remains locked on beyond this depth. but the Belltone alert quits working.... giving just a short "blip" on the deeper signals.

The worst thing is the coils lilliputian size. I can work with the other things, no problems. But that hockey puck sized loop is gonna take some real patience; you aren't going to cover much ground with it. It is going to be most useful in small-area locations.

All in all, very interesting.

Sounds good!:thumbup:Best of luck to ya'!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
