Guess what I found!!! Yippeee!!!:yikes:

my thoughts were why did it corrode? gold usually stays somewhat shiny, and why all the pitting? maybe it did go thru a fire?
 
the first 2 pictures are a Merc dime I found at a burnt house. The third is the suspect gold coin. It looks a lot like a burnt coin to me. Take it to a jeweler and get an acid test. It won't even show. Then at least you will know if and or what type of gold it is.
