decided it was time to take the plunge...dove into the garage with all its accumulation to find my waders. Took awhile but finally rescued them. Then decided I should go through some of my Dad and step-Mom's things we brought here. Lots was just papers I could burn. Lots of photographs and sorted them into groups for my brother, my step-niece and those for us.
After doing that I figured I had the makings for my water sieve that I still had yet to put together. Wanted to make it different than it turned out but it should do the job. Here are some pics of the completed project.

It is a 12 inch by 13-1/2 inch plastic milk crate. Used hardware cloth (1/2 inch wire mesh) in the bottom and along the sides. Used almost 48 feet of thin rope to tie the motorcycle inner tube to the crate...and the rope also holds the wire mesh sides in place.
It has a strong bottom so I can load it up without worrying the bottom would fall out:

The flag is attached to a 3 or 4 foot fiberglas CB antenna that is detachable using the velcro strap. (Makes it a little more compact for getting it into the vehicle with the mast lowered.)

The water bottle required a 'cup holder' to keep it from floating away. For it I used a small plastic coffee 'can' and used cable ties to connect it to the milk crate. Drilled drain holes in the bottom of the coffee can before attaching it to the crate. The hole was too big and the water bottle would rattle around inside so I put the lid on the can and made a hole in the lid slightly smaller than the bottle so it slides in and doesn't move.
Took one of extra dog leashes for attaching the crate to my belt so it will 'tag along behind me' in the water.
So there it is. Not like I had originally thought it would look but hey at least I have one now instead of wishing and dreaming of having one.
