Had a few words with my neighbor today...

..There is a big vacant lot between my house and the neighbors-The last 4 times Ive been outside;Ive had what looks like a pit bull run across the vacant lot at me;hackles up,teeth bared,all the way on to my property-the new neighbors that just moved in owns him-They just let him outside without a chain;if he sees me or my dog outside;he goes into attack mode,and here he comes...I was walking by their house in warm weather,that dog came up behind me in stealth mode-If the woman that owns him hadnt yelled,I would have not known he was coming-As it was;he grabbed my pant leg,and put holes in my pants-Didnt get my leg,though-TODAY,he came at me again -I was outside on MY property,he ran all the way from their house to mine;I grabbed our dof and threw him in the house-and turned to face this menace.The nit-wit neighbor just stood there in the door,calling this 4 legged terror,and Id had enough...I told her-GOOD AND LOUD-"IF THIS DOG COMES OVER HERE ON MY LAND,AND BITES ANYBODY,YER GONNA HAVE A REAL PROBLEM"....She yelled something or other back,I didnt listen to her,I think it was"He wont bite"....That statement means as much to me as the statement HARLAND AND WOLFFE-The designers of the Titanic-made to the owners of Titanic,White Star Line-"THE TITANIC IS UNSINKABLE"....

This dog is a menace! What if a young child comes by that has no knowledge that the dog is anywhere around and is seriously injured or killed.

I say again notify the appropriate authorities ASAP for every ones safety.

if a dog bites someone the law requires the owner of the dog to spend 1 day in jail. Check out your area's laws, steve in so az

or chained up. Talk to the neighbor first asking to restrain the dog. If that does not work call animal control or the cops. Take no chances with the dog, it sounds like a menace

he can check to see if the dog is licensed...if not - a fine will probably given to the owners if all dogs are supposed to be licensed and it isn't.

Notifying the ACO will also allow him/her to have reason to be in the area more often to see if he can catch it running free. Show him the pants and ask his advice what you can do to protect yourself in case and attack appears imminent....maybe pepper spray would be worth carrying just in case but get the ACOs advice. Hopefully the ACO can resolve the problem by him contacting the owners and informing them of leash laws, licensing, etc. they are to follow. If anyone gets bit...go after their homeowners insurance to cover all the medical expenses and get a lawyer.

Also, be careful your own dog is not left alone outside...some people like that will try to harm your animal for revenge or to eliminate their perceived problem.
