I hit an old church site that really produced for me today. Was great fun. Haven't had much luck with the old coins lately plus its been to dawg gone hot to detect most of this summer.
Anyway, I first found the 3 Indian heads, which would have been good enough. 1900,1902, 1886 type 2. Then I started detecting the strip right on the edge of the property along a line of bushes. Got the large cent around 8 inches. Cool! 1846 small date. Further down the strip I get an indian head type signal and out pops my oldest U.S silver find to date. The 1838 half dime!! Very cool!! On my turn around back up the other side of the strip near the bushes I get another Indian head penny sounding hit. I'm not even thinking half dime, I was sure this one was gonna be an Indian head but to my great surprise another half dime. Yahoo!! It was only 3 foot away from the other one. This one is in great condition as you can see in the photo. 1853 0 with arrows. Too very cool!!! Now that was a fun hunt. Thanks for reading my ramblings. Jim
