I was approached by a workmate who belongs to the local touch footy club about some lost jewellery, in particular, a men's wedding band. Unfortunately, he could narrow down the search parameters for me and even indicated, that he could have lost it on the field of play. There are 3 fields at this spot and he could even tell me which one it was.
Oh well, I decided to have a crack at it anyway.
I pulled out the Explorer on Friday after work. I only managed to get about 45 mins in, due to meeting a mate on the oval and having a long conversation. I still managed to find a couple of dollars and a very attractive silver necklace. this has been the most attractive one that I've found to date.
Yesterday, I pulled out my GTI and hunted for another 2.5 hours. I got lucky and found the missing ring about half an inch down under the dirt, plus a few more coins, one being a copper cent. So you might say that I had a bit of an Olympic moment. Gold! Silver and bro.... OK copper, but it was close as you can get to the trifector!
The ring will be going back promptly as it was itentified before I stated the seach, but I'll be requesting a description of the necklace before I hand it over. hopefully it will get back to the rightful owner, without some oportunists taking off with it.
Mick Evans.
