Had a scare this morning...

Parked the truck ib the road by the house last night, woke up this morning and walked out and saw the window almost pryed open, the small back window broken open, and a plastic window gaurd broke....my heart dropped because I had left the Minelab 2 and the XLT in the back seat of the truck. The only thing I can think of is when my girlfriend left to pick up her son about 12:30 AM and came back around 1:15 AM it scared whoever it was because they took nothing!! A lesson learned and may not be so lucky next time!!

Just too bad that someone didn't catch the little @#!*&! and teach them a lesson. A good beating is what one needs when they go out and try and steal other people's belongings. Just because they don't or can't afford nice things just doesn't cut it. You got lucky for sure and I hope someday that the person that tried stealing your belongings gets what they deserve. Maybe it is time to put an alarm system on your vehicle! Well, Good Luck and hopefully they catch the guy but doubtful and just remember to take anything in valuable unless you put an alarm on your truck.

Well, outside of the damage to your truck at least they didn't get your detector. Maybe a truck alarm like a Pit Bull would make jerks like that think twice about breaking into someone's vehicle......:)

Leave anything of value in plain view in a locked car as even a moderately priced item can lead to damage to your vehicle which can add up to big bucks...
We all like to carry a spare especially on long trips, but keep it concealed and an old beat up one that functions well should do the job..
Matter of fact when I had the van actually threw a blanket over it. Now back to a sdn its out of sight in the trunk..

Hi Dan,

Locks on car doors only keep the honest people honest, those that want it the locks will not stop them and only cause more things to repair. This is why I don't leave anything of value where anyone can see it and I leave my car door unlocked, this way they feel there is nothing worth stealing. I also find if you have a older beat up car no one will come close to it. I even had one experience that could have been bad, but wasn't because of my old beat up car. I just left the bank with my bank bag with over $500 cash in it on my cars front seat and went into Sams Club to pick up supplies and never locked my doors. I came out about a half hour latter and the bag was still there. I feel it was because of my car didn't look like there would be anything in it. Now I put it in the trunk if I pick up change as I got lucky once, maybe not the next time.
