Had to burn off the tamales

So I went tot lotting. Did do some field hunting also which is where I found the sterling cross. Total for today
18 quarters
18 dimes
8 nickels
.5 handful of pennies and of course
1 sterling cross.

Funny thing though, the cross came across as a zinc penny. I dug it up just to see if it was a penny ,boy was I surprised. Now the doubt has crept in as to how many silver objects I leave behind since I mostly skip zincker signals. Oh well this one did not get away.

Great finds! You might be missing some larger gold too. Since it's easy digging I dig everything but iron. Iffy, one way and bouncing targets all get dug.

Durn-it.... guess I should have scarf hot tamales instead of ham and eggs this morning just before getting in some detecting time. Kids were already there playing so I couldn't swing, maybe hot tamales would have helped drive them away:rage:

Yeah dig everything in a tot lot. We all must remember, detectors do not give 100% accurate readings - only probabilities. THey can't see into the ground any more than you can. They ain't magic.

nice silver yeah i tend to cherry pick in the grass to but in the tot lots the only thing i leave is iron.

From the land of the Bluenose.....the digging god took care of you. Nice find and I'm sure your on the "Big Guy's" side. Best of the season to you sir!

John calls it "penny popping" and rarey fails to dig them. Same here. All coins are dug - first. Then I swing back for the midrange targets.
I rolled my cents today and got $17.50 of them for the year. I'll take it.

Besides, the deep knee bends do me a lot of good!

I guess I shouldn't skip the zinc pennies lol. I always do, BAD IDEA!!
