Half frozen...but still got out..

Pete in MI

New member
went to the ball field about 6:30 a.m. By 7:30 I was back home, trying t get warm. Strong wind and cold temp made for some miserable detecting. My nose dictated my comfort level and I wasn't comfortable. Didn't have my long johns on so about froze my behind off and legs still feel cold and its almost 9 a.m. now.

Here's the meager finds for today...the screw cap says it all

Mostly melted aluminum, some copper (tossed in trash before the pic was taken), a broken car battery connector and a lowly nickel. Couldn't force myself to stay out any longer.

a few nights this week! :( Oh well, It's Michigan! :) You will get em next time! :)

MIke, I didn't realize that it is still so cold where you live...is this throughout Michigan ..or just the central-northern area?

Hey, you found a nickel...better than the one penny that I came home with last week! Yes..that is right...one penny..and it wasn't even a "wheatie" :rage:

Here is a link to Houghton Lake weather for the next 7 days:

It was colder still this morning with the windchill.

I was told there are forest fires going on up here - Grayling (a major town north of us) is supposedly being evacuated....that is where the nearest largest hospital and a large nursing home.

I hope the rumor is wrong.

It'll get warmer and better diggins are ahead! Hey, if you went near those forest fires.....they would thaw you out quickly! Just don't get roasted after being half-frozen! :)

Windy and cold isn't a good mix! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

God Bless!
