Handle geometry question

TURNMASTER

Active member
I have to wonder how many guys suffer because of the handle geometry on the Explorers.
My first few outings have caused a bit of pain to my wrist due to the handles angle.

I would love to hear how you guys cope with this issue. And... Is there a desire for a "fix"?

Please weigh in on this.
Jeff

Hi Jeff
Get yourself a Bungee Harness (Swingy Thingy) no more wrist pain or backache using one of these,a cracking
piece of kit, you can swing all day with no discomfort.
Good Luck.

Les.

The Etrac handle angle does help some but went back to a Explorer II.. I have learned to wear shoes with no or little metal and keep the rod as short as possible..Most people start out with the rod way too long.. wildherre

I agree with Wildherre. Shorten your shaft so the coil is right in front of the tips of your shoes. The farther away your coil is from your shoes, the more stress you will put on your arm, shoulder, and wrist. I don't have any wrist problems while swinging my Explorer. I get a very stiff/spasming chest muscle though that aggravates the heck out of me. Try not to use a "death-grip" will swinging your Explorer. In fact, I will just swing my machine with my fingers (very open grip). I turn my body from side to side to take up most of the motion/movement of the coil/machine. I don't even lock my forearm in the velcro strap....I just lay my forearm loosely in the arm support...that's it.
