Happy New Detecting Year!

Goldstrike

Well-known member
This past January (2015) I detected this hunk of 14K with diamonds which got me off to an awesome start this year. It was definitely a moral booster. I have detected other gold/silver rings and jewellery but as the New Year approaches, I hope to have this same 'luck'....call it what you may at the start of the year!
I firmly believe that if you continue gathering your knowledge of metal detecting from other detectorists (there are always new things/tips etc; to learn in this hobby). Be always willing to continue to learn about how your detector/s can operate optimally for you and also always being doggedly persistent, you will be able to reach your goals and be successful in what you want to get out of this great hobby. Happy New Detecting Year to you all!!

Keep on rockin, GS. Back in 2003, Garrett let me test the GTI 2500. I found a gold ring with 22 little diamonds. I got an article about my experience as a newbie with a high end detector and, this past june, I put that ring on my new bride's finger. The article is i"A Greenhorn Gets some Gold" in Lost Treasuer magazine. Your pic reminds me of that find.
Cheers,
Mark

That is awesome Mark!! Thanks for sharing those experience's with us and especially the fact that you got married this year!! Congratulations to both of you!! This coming Monday is my 37th wedding anniversary! I hope your new wife like's metal detecting!
Congratulations again! Colin A.K.A. Goldstrike.

As 2015 comes to a close it is a time for reflection. For me 2015 was not as productive as 2014 with only 5 rings to show vs. 10 last year. I hope I can start out 2016 on a positive note as Goldstrike did in 2015. Congrats to you GS for 37 years and to you Mark and your new bride who are just starting what for me was the best decision of my life. I am fortunate to have a wife that not only tolerates my hobby, but participates in it with me when she can. Happy New Year to everyone and best wishes for a safe and productive one.
