we should always be giving thanks to God, our Father, to our Lord Jesus and even thanks to the Holy Spirit for what they have done and continue to do for us.
About 2 AM Sherry was finally able to lie down in bed and she slept well until about 9 AM. We awoke to a ground covered with snow and a message on the answering machine...a Happy Thanksgiving wish from my oldest son.
This is a great way to wake up and this is the day the Lord has made...time to rejoice and to be glad.
11 AM we plan on being at the church where the church will be holding a "Giving Thanks" meal to those in need. Those who can be there will enjoy the meal and those who cannot we will deliver to their homes. So far at last count there were at least 45 people who confirmed they would either come or would love to have a meal delivered to them. May God bless them all and their loved ones too.
God bless you all this day of the Lord and may the joy of being with family bring out the love of Christ to one another. Thank you all for the prayers for Sherry.
On a humorous side: I mentioned to Sherry as we sat in the living room and looking out onto the freshly fallen snow, "Well, glad I got the inside storm windows up and they are clean. Too bad I was not able to clean the outside windows before this. Looks like they won't be getting done now." I contined to say "I guess 3 sides of glass out of 4 is better than none."
Sherry countered my comment with "If you wait long enough, there is no limit to the things you can avoid getting done." (Procrastination is something she likes)
I guess by the same token "If one jumps to get things done quickly, there is no limit to how messed up things can get...because of not thinking or asking God first for guidance." I know I sure have done a lot of stupid things and gotten into a lot of messes because I didn't think or ask God for guidance.
Oh yeah, Sherry also said "You can wait til the January thaw and clean the windows then." My reply was "If I wait til February I can avoid cleaning them in January too!"
Have a great day filled with Love and thanksgiving.
