hard machine to learn on?

etracjoe

New member
Just wanted to know if maybe I should have started out on a simpler machine? Or is the etrac good because of the teaching an old dog new tricks theory. In other words would the etrac be harder to leaqrn on if you a veteran md'er?

Easier, I have been detecting since 1968. My father got me started with a Metrotec 220-A on my 15th birthday. This is a simple machine to learn. HH...Jesse.

hard to learn in 2000, there was no experience hunters then, now you got this place you can find the answer. I believe with the E-Trac the factory coin pattern is all you need to get started and swing speed should be like brush painting the floor and trying to do it with one coat. The slow speed is where alot of user just give up, it's not a Tesoro. I have many time went through a small three foot area and go right back over it at a turtle pace and find deep coins I missed. Any detector can find coins at 5inches but the deep old ones is where the Explorer and E-Trac shine. Happy Trails 2 U

Since i am new also 6moths exp Learning to listen to all the sounds
is the hardest part.(Which you have with all metal detectors)
Keep at it give it some time you will be ok.
