Has anyone tried an Edge coil on an Excel?

I'm just curious if the coils would be compatible. I know they run at different frequencies but the overall build of the coil should be similar enough to give it a try. I know that the Edge and Coinstrike can use he same coils if you have the Sunray probe attached. Really need to know cause if they are compatible I'm buying the bigger coil.

Thanks,

Shane

Yeah the build of the coil is the same - the Excel coil LOOKS just like what is on the Edge and Coinstrike and CZ for that matter. But as far as wiring goes, I highly doubt it would work, or they would have advertised it for the Edge and sold it for that unit.

My gut feeling is if you buy it, it's not going to work. Not as is. Save your money. You could buy a CZ coil too, and it's probably the same dimensions but would never work on that unit. Just a guess, but I'd bet money on it.

The good news is I've seen both Edges and Coinstrikes, new with warranty, for 399 on the auction site just go and search. If you've got the money, and want different coil sizes, that's the way to go.
