Has the service and turn around time improved on the Minelabs.

It seemed for the longest time Minelab had a poor repair and send back time.
You still read it on other forums, and it may just be negative talk knocking Minelab.
Two years ago I purchased a Minelab Xterra 305, and been very happy with it.
Even though Garretts new AT Pro looks good and offers alot I still love the Xterra.
My concern is if I have to send it back for any reason will it take weeks to get it back.
Service is one of the features when buying a new detector.
Does anyone know what the turn around time is now. I thought I read that Minelab opened a
new service shop in the states. Is this true.

Give Minelab a call explaining your problem or problems. Customer Care #s for repairs 1-877-767-6522 questions about machines or company 1-888-949-6522. I don't have the address but their location is in Illinois. Very friendly and helpfull give them a call. HH :minelab:
 
I believe they have listened and taken the steps to improve. My experience with them was related to the ears on my concentric coil breaking. I had a new one inside a week after sending in the old one. I've also read on this forum of another owner who sent his control box in for repair and had it back in two weeks door to door. That's only two examples, but it is encouraging. Hope that helps you.
 
Shipped my xt505 on the 9th and just received a call from minelab thats it`s being shipped back to me today. Not bad service imo. It had a bad circuit board.
 
Was it under warranty, or did you have to pay, and if so was it reasonable ?

Turnaround is reasonable. 14 days door to door for me.
