Has this X1 probe thing happened to you...Too

I dug a target last week and then detected about 20ft with the probe turned on before I figured it out. Kind of embarrassing but it can't be just me right??

Mr. Todd---It ain't just you!-----I've done it so many times & a couple of times for such extended periods that I embarrassed myself (and there wasn't even anyone else around)! :lmfao:------The ones that say it hasn't happened to them either aren't owning up to it or haven't used the in-lines much.-----Those X-1's (and all the Sunray in-lines) are still the "best thing since sliced bread" though.

Nope ! never ever never happened to me .......... Nope never ever never ............. LOL !!!!
Well .........Maybe just once ......

I can't even begin to imagine that happening to ANYONE, let alone myself. It would defy belief!!!!!!!!!:blink::rolleyes::razz:

Stinks having to go back over an area you just did. Also, ocassionally when I want to check quickmask I hit the noise cancel button. :ranting:

My problem is probing the hole without having the probe turned on....lol. I spent a good 5 minuttes the other day looking for a signal in a hole and digging it deeper....lol.

It has happened to me so frequently that I am now down to less than 10 feet before I realize the only pings I'm getting are off my belt buckle. :lmfao:

Don't have one myself, but I believe there are 2 kinds of people...those who have and those who will!!!

At least once an outing. I takes me about four steps before it registers that somehting aint right. I "try" to wave my wedding ring over the probe each time I get up off the ground, it almost always works.........

Ain't that a bear when that happens! Nothing like gridding an area only to discover your still in probe mode :rage: I still do it from time to time

Yes! I covered the three entire beach volleyball areas and was baffled at not getting one decent signal...then I saw the toggle switch!

However, after too many tangles in the brush and finding the extra weight to be a pain I removed the x-1 and took my wife's garret pro-pointer out.
Not sure I'll be putting the x-1 back on...

my probe was in the pocked giving signal when I was walking, but when I stopped signal gone?? but this was in early morning few years ago...:bouncy:

Ya know.....I read this post and chuckled, wondering why I hadn't done something silly like this and then this afternoon I was detecting for about 25 feet and wondering why I wasn't getting any signals. Even turned my etrac off and back on, checked to make sure I didn't have the pinpoint on....scratched my head, said "what the heck?!" and then "DUH" I looked down and noticed that I hadn't flipped the switch back to coil from probe. Rechecked that area and found a very pretty little silver cross in one section. Just think I could have missed out on that if I hadn't realized what I did in time to back-track.
