Have been glad to see lots of traffic up here...

We went to Gaylord on U.S. 127 Friday and it was almost like driving in a city again. Then we have seen a couple motorcycle groups touring through town and lots of singles, twos and triples rolling along on their bikes. There is boats on the lake but not as many as would be normally in previous years. Did see a lot of people with 4 sale signs on their big boats too. Good luck to them finding buyers.

I think people came mainly because it was a long weekend...and they want to de-stress after a long winter. Only time will tell if they come back again til Labor Day. Water was too cold so there were many who stayed on the sandy beach and not in the water.

Nice for you not to have to detect in the water....Hope they lost some nice goodies and you get to go :detecting: and find them! :)

God Bless!

I've had my boat for sale for months now and have had only one person inquire about it.

Can't believe people have the money to travel though! We went 12 miles today for an all day picnic with friends, and tomorrow only 2 miles.

Was at my mother-in-law's house yesterday. Usually there are only her and another person on the block throughout the year. Everyone was there (except Renee) and had their flags flying. Considering the houses in that area are about $100,000 I guess these people can afford to do pretty much what they want and not think too much about the cost of gas....must be nice

Bro Pete....Maybe this is what God wants us to do.....stay close to home and enjoy our neighbors, friends and relatives to get to know them like we should! When we lived on the farm, we would get together with our relatives from St. Louis and on the creek and go to the Lake or visit someone's home and have plenty to eat! I still remember those times and then when people could afford to travel, we never got to see one another unless there was a marriage or a funeral! Really sad to think about it! Most of the older ones have passed on now, but I have the memories of my childhood! Now, Cliff and I are the old folks! We did have a family reunion on mom's side of the family back years ago when Tami was young and still at home.....don't remember the year....but have pics to find with the date on them! We celebrated our get-to-gether in one of the parks in Jeff City and some came from CA, FL, IL and other states! I had never seen some of them and haven't seen them since! But hopefully in the Rapture of the Saints I will! :)

God Bless!
