Have been out a couple of times, but have not found the usual old coins I'm used to finding. This is the better of 2 days hunting. Went looking for some cellar holes a hunter told me about, but could not locate them. Not bad finds, but all from around 1900 and up. The exercise was great though.:detecting:

Nice Finds :clapping:, Looks like a FUN hunt , really like the
old lighter and bug pin, very Nice . Glad you go out !

Terri

How do we fix that???? Oh, I know, I'll just win the lottery!!! Or maybe I have a rich uncle that just passed away and left me everything??? Sorry, just some useless wishful thinking on my part.:twodetecting::twodetecting:

May be a mediocre hunt to you, but it looks like a nice one to me.

I sure hope you didn't get permission for searching those cellar holes from a stranger. I've heard that's rude!

Congrats on the finds! I really like that lighter! It is very cool! I also noticed a 3 Merry Widows tin. I found one of them also. I think the story behind them is kinda wild. Nice hunting, Beale.

Yep, The old Merry Widow thing is cool. Those picnics at the turn of the century take on a new meaning. So that's how we all got here.

hi coinnut! it's good to see you back. i haven't posted much lately either...work, family and the holidays take their usual toll this time of year. cool finds though! keep on gettin' up! hh,

Hey Ghost, Yes the work and holidays commandeer their time slots. But still have some time to detect. Going out cellar hopping this Sunday. Hope to have something besides shot gun shells to post:rofl: See ya. George

haha, yeah, those shotgun shells sound soooooooo good, so you know that we gotta dig 'em! we call 'em 12th georgias down here. unfortunately, that's just the way it is. frank and i have a new spot to hit this a.m. - it's been hit a long time ago, but you know how that goes. got some earthworks/battlelines to check out. good luck on your cellar hole digs - i hope you find some nice colonial coppers today! looking forward to your posts, and hh,

Hey Ghost, I hope you did better than I did. My DFX did not like the cold or the snow. It acted up for a good while and then settled down right before we went home. 3 of us went out and the only coins were my 1919 Wheat and a Memorial. The larger disc is either a counterfeit coin that was in a fire or maybe a button or gaming piece. The piece to the right of it was part of it and peeled away. Never found one that crumbled that way before. Reads around 45 and is silvery (like pewter or bell metal). Lots of area to hunt, but was already hit hard! Better luck next time:rofl:

Hey George , Looks like a Great Hunt to me . Way too cold for a hunt
my way and snowing. Interesting finds I like finding crotal bell chunks, gives
me hope that their is one intact near by.....so far not . Good to see you got out :clapping:
