Friday I found all the Indians. Soaked them in olive oil over the weekend and cleaned them up lightly with a small brass brush. Found the dimes today along with two more Indians that are soaking now. Using the X705, tracking on, 3kHz cc 9inch, sens 27 in pattern 1. Dimes were all about 4 inches deep. They all started out at 46. One of them would not even register on the 705 after my first dig. Had to use my pin pointer to find it. I notice that sometimes I lose the target after the first dig. I have read sometime ago that other experience that also???? Comments??? HH

With that many Seated Dimes turning up so far, I's just camp out there until the snow flies.

I believe that what you're experiencing with the signal is relative to the disturbance of the soil matrix.

I had that problem and posted it a while back. Had not had it on dimes(that I know of anyway) , but had a day where I found 52 wheats one morning. I would get a great signal, dig and flip my plug and nothing would be there, but with my pinpointer in the hole I would find it immediately. I don't believe it's disturbing the soil matrix. Not certain why I think that because it really matters with old iron,etc. But I've never had that issue with a coin. There was tons of trash at this site and maybe that's what was happening. Anyway, I think you as well as myself learned a lesson, if you lose the signal don't walk away.
You made some great saves there. I wish I lived in an area that had more seateds to find. Nice job!

Hi Randy. I was in hunt mode.

Next time you go out, try flipping it over to All Metal when you rescan the hole. OR, try using Pinpoint mode. Either one will eliminate audio masking due to adjacent targets.
Pinpoint switches to an All Metal, non-motion detector, with a visual display and audio tone with volume modulation. The "non-motion" will allow you to work the coil very slowly over the hole and plug. As to Pinpoint Auto or Pinpoint Sizing, I prefer Pinpoint Sizing as it allows you to mask part of the audio response, similar to how Auto Pinpoint reduces the Sensitivity. However, in Pinpoint Sizing Mode, you control how much masking you get by how close you are to the target when you activate the Pinpoint pad. Let us know if either of those help you pick up on the dime. HH Randy
