Head phone disassembly

leesumm

New member
I have two lower end price head phones , the Bounty Hunter (with volume control and two smal wires) and the Garrett set without a volume control and two small wires ( I added a add on volume control here with the help of Radio Shack). Both head phones work good for my use but I want to change the wireing from the straight wires to a coil cord . Can any one point me to a web site of give me an explanation how to get the ear pieces apart to change the wires ?

Some of the headphones are heat welded, or chemically welded together, in assembly...
It might be necessary to break them, to dis-assemble them.

Perhaps a dremel tool with cutoff disk?
