Heading out for a days hunt and am going to change one setting

After reading all the posts on Sensitivity. I am going to run in Auto Sen. in stead of my usual sen. in manual and cranked.
Will start out at the same lawn that I've been testing these settings on.
Later and HH

I use Auto-sens when in trashy areas, it works wonders, depth is great so no worries.

Hi Bob, I've been doing some long hours the last couple days, but it finally rained & slowed down construction for a bit..the next couple dats I'm gonna do the same...I'm kinda thinking semi auto may be best...HH...TT

Never got to the lawn. Hunted woods today. A few buttons and the usual trash but theres always tomorrow.

When you say CRANKED are you talking 32? And you had the gain set where? And what kind of depth did you see under those conditions? I'm guessing it ran smooth as glass, huh? If the depth is there I'm all about it. One thing though, in tough ground like my test garden where the ground is HARD, the mineralization heavy, and there's an underground power line, it hits my deep targets well at 18 to 20 but starts to fade at 22 and most of the 8"+ targets go away at 24 and above. And it won't hit any of them on Auto either. So in tough ground I still think manual may be best. But I must add that when I went to Auto I left the sens where it was, like around 20. Never tried it jacked up. All very interesting...definitely more than one way to skin this cat. :)

I've been watching this thread and you got me to give all these different settings a try today. No matter how I set it up,when I switch to auto,I loose between 2 and 4 inches on my depth. If I run manual 22 I have machine stability. If I go to auto 32,I have stability but I loose deepth, all other settings stay the same....Think I'll stay with manual. HH Bob

It just proves what works for one in their area doesn't necessarily work for all. I've always ran manual too until today and it seemed to work.

When I run in manual I have the sen. as high as I can and still have stability.
When I went to Auto today I set sen at 28 and left it there. It ran smooth in the spotty iron areas as well as the clean ground. I am assuming I had max depth that the machine would allow all day. But only the Shadow knows.
