Heading to Tampa

I will be heading to Tampa next week and would like to do some beach detecting. I think we are going to Clearwater beach does anyone have any info about it. do they charge to park? are you permitted to water detect? do you need a permit? any info would be great . thanks and happy hunting.John

No permit needed from Clearwater south to st.pete beach. only state/county parks, if MDing is allowed at all, may require a permit. parking is metered,,$1.50 per hour average or lot charge parking,@ $20.00 for a day.

If you drive out to Anna Marie Island or Bradington beaches, the parking is free (until 2015) and more like OLD Florida. Anyway, hope you enjoy your vacation down here.

Hint: pick up all the sharp objects you find and give them to one of the rangers or life guards... they will appreciate the effort and solidify our standing as helpful geeks.
